Matthew Flinders is an important figure in Australia’s exploration as he was the first person to circumnavigate the country and meticulously map its vast coastline. This activity is great fun, allowing students to track Flinders’ voyage around Australia. Students are also required to use an atlas or online means to record important locations around Australia’s coastline. This is an ideal task to do in pairs or could be enlarged on to A3 paper to create a project or display item for your classroom. Everything you need is in this file.
