Who was Edmund Barton and why is he important to the Australian Federation?
This product has been designed to assist you in your year 6 classroom while studying Australian Federation. It links to the Australian Curriculum descriptors for Year 6.
Students will be able to identify the key figures, events and ideas that led to Australia’s Federation and constitution (ACHASSK134). Use the internet or texts to research and locate reliable information about Australia’s first Prime Minister Edmund Barton. (ACHASSI123)
Using student research, complete the questions; then, use the answers to put together the jumbled image of Edmund Barton and glue it into the books. Additionally, students will need to record their sources of information and identify reliable sources. Also, they will explain their reasoning for considering them valid and reliable compared to other sites/sources.
